Hey all,
Thanks to all those who handed in the forms for our yearly retreat (this time to Throssel Hall Zen Monestary). I will send these off now and then inform you all about subsidy etc. and our proposed transport route so that we can all get booking our paths up there! For those who still wish to come but didn't make it on Monday please send print out a retreat reg form (http://www.throssel.org.uk/) and post it to the required address stated on the website, also please tick that you would like picked up from Hexham railway station and post with a £7.50 checque or postal order. Please email me to let me that you have sent your retreat app. form and I will then add you to our subisidy list for the trip. I would like to emphasise that ULUBUDA will subisidise the donations for staying in the monestary, however transport is up to the individual but we will try and encourage a joint bus we can all book on.
Also, keeping to our theme of East Asian Buddhism of late, I am very pleased to announce that this Sunday, ULUBUDA and Imperial Coll. Buddhist Soc. will join up with Amitabha UK for an introduction to Pureland Buddhism and also for a days meditation. This event is being hosted by Amitabha UK and our dear friend and ex-committee member (yet always a constant help) Vincent Lai. Having, been to a session before it will definitely be an extremely informative and productive experience for those still in the dark about one of the world's most popular Buddhist traditions.
See the attachments and Vincent's email below for more details. There will be space for walking meditation and sitting meditation. Even if you wish to come and use the space and atmosphere provided by AMTB to do your own practice, please feel free to come along and share in theunique peace of collective pratice during one of the busiest times of year.
With metta,
Alastair
