Dear all,
Sorry for another email, there is just a lot of stuff going on this week!
ULUBUDA will be again joining up with Imperial College Buddhist Society this Friday for a talk by Ajahn Khemadhammo, a monk in the Thai forest tradition of Ajahn Chah, and founder of Angulimala Buddhist Prison Chaplaincy organisation. The talk will be entitled 'Living in Harmony' and marks ICBS annual Buddhism without borders event. Ajahn Khemadhammo is a greatly respect monk both in the UK and in Thailand. His dedication to his monastic discipline and his work for prisoners in the UK has brought him recognition from both secular and religious institutions:
'Ajahn Khemadhammo was appointed an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's Birthday Honours, June 2003 for 'services to prisoners'. In December 2004, on the birthday of the King of Thailand, he was made a Chao Khun with the ecclesiastical title of Phra Bhavanavitayt; he was only the second foreign-born monk to receive such an honour.'

Also to mark this occasion, ULUBUDA will be giving away a ton of free books.
As always refreshments will be provided.
A poster for the event has been attached, if you wish please stick this up in your universities to let all those know who would wish to come.

Description of Event by Imperial college:
Our annual Buddhism Without Borders event is
back!

As the world grows smaller, people from every corner of the world
are being brought together in multicultural cosmopolitan cities. However, as
prejudice and discrimination still prevails in this day, people are often
divided by colour, creed, believes, etc. What does it take to coexist with each
other peacefully?

This year, we've invited Venerable Ajahn Khemadhammo to
give us a talk - "Living in Harmony". Besides the talk, we will be having a
Q&A session, as well as an exhibition and free distribution. There will be
refreshments.

Venerable Ajahn Khemadhammo is a teacher of Theravada
Buddhism. More about Venerable can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajahn_Khemadhammo

This is a
great opportunity to learn from a great teacher. Do come and invite your friends
too!

Best wishes,
Alastair
