SATURDAY 28th- FOUR REQUISITES CHARITY PROGRAM. FOCUS- CLOTHES

Also, a week on Saturday we are going to be gathering our old clothes together and to take them to a nearby charity shop.
This will help the charity create money and also allow those who are in need of cheaper clothes to obtain them. If you cannot
make it for a couple of hours on Saturday and still want to help out them you can bring the clothes to the talk on Monday 23rd
and we can keep them in our store cupboard until the Saturday.

The reason we call this charity program the four requisites charity program is because the Buddha outlined four requisites for monks and nuns
that are essential to life and to uphold the dharma. They are food, clothing, shelter and health care. It is recommended that the monks and nuns
just have these four things in life to keep them focused and detached from materialism. ULUBUDA is attempting to take this recommendation as
a benchmark for subsistence living, which ideally nobody should fall below. However, it is evident in this world that many people do not
even have these four requisites and therefore, ULUBUDA will conduct a charity activity surrounding each of the requisites during the course of the year.

Any idea and suggestions for charity work for the other requisites are more than welcome!

Just a quick note to emphasise all activities we do are completely optional, just pick and choose those that sound good to you!

Take care and have a great weekend.
Best wishes,
Alastair _______________________________________________exco0607 mailing listexco0607 at ulubuda.org.ukhttp://mail.ulubuda.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/exco0607_ulubuda.org.uk
