[ULUBUDA] Wednesday 29th- Social Dharma Discussion

Dear all,
 
I hope you have been having a good weekend!
This coming Wednesday, it is time once again for us to gather as a Sangha and eat, chat and discuss Buddhism.
 
The Social Dharma session this Wednesday 29th will be focused on a discussion. 
 
DISCUSSION: How can we understand the seeming paradox of faith/belief and analysis in Buddhism?Perhaps with special regard to the often talked about scientific nature of Buddhism and the faith in rebirth.
 
Do you wonder if there can be a Buddhism without beliefs/faith? Perhaps you agree with the teachings of the Buddha yet cannot believe in rebirth?
The Buddha stated his teachings were visible for us if we wish to test them, however how does this equate with a faith in the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.
Is faith simply a skilful teaching? Is analysis equally only a skilful teaching? Wish to express your own problems in not wanting to be a part of a 'belief system'? Or do you wish to show in your practice how faith is a very powerful tool?
 
Come and contribute to a rigorous discussion where no stone will be left unturned.
